On Tuesday, Apple released a couple of new upgrades and even a new device, the iPad Mini. With the biggest release being in fact the iPad Mini, we should say the second star (or at least the thinnest) one at the announcement was the iMac. With a couple of subtle improvements to the Mac Mini and the MacBook Pro, the event went off as expected for many of us. Today, I will go a bit in detail about what occurred and a bit of product information about each one. (more...)

To say that I'm excited about tomorrow's announcement would be a bit of an understatement. I have my Apple hoodie from The Company Store ready to be worn tomorrow, on what The Wall Street Journal calls "Apple Day". However, what is all of the excitement all about. Yes, there's a new iPhone to be announced, we have known that for months now, however, what else does Apple have under their sleeves this time around. The rumors have been tried and tested, and here are the highly likely expectations we will see out of tomorrow's event. Let us know which one you're most excited for. (more...)

We are finally nearing the time when the new iPhone will be released. This is one of the new iPhone devices to have a fall release. The only other iPhone to do this is iPhone 4S. This changes what we are normally used to, which is a summer June/July release of the past. Since we didn't hear anything about the iPhone at WWDC, this has made iPhone rumors go more rampant since then. However, there a few factors of the new iPhone that we know now that may not entice many new adopters as much as with the iPhone 4S, and even the 4. Today we will take a look at what we are a bit certain about seeing,...

Mountain Lion was released on Wednesday through the App Store. The software, which was highly anticipated for months now, has been reviewed downloaded and dissected. While we were disappointed in the fact that Mountain Lion wasn't as great as we had thought, in the end we did not see it as bad software anyway.  One thing about Mountain Lion that we really enjoyed was how integrated iOS apps were. It was obvious how Apple felt it was important to incorporate many of these apps into Mountain lion. So today we'll take a look at Mountain lion, we will see how the downloading experience was, how the user...

// // On Friday, we received news that Sparrow will be joining up with Google, offering a mail client that better incorporates many of Google's services, while still retaining the same Sparrow team. This comes almost 17 months after Sparrow became available. With this merger, this means that Sparrow won't have a team that focuses wholeheartedly on the product. As a result, Google will work more toward retaining the current Sparrow product, without offering up new and amazing features. For any of you out there hoping for a new feature or two to come out of Sparrow, you'll be disappointed....

Last week, I had to check my Mac in because of an issue with my power block. However, after a quick checkup, it turned out that my Mac also needed a new battery, screen, keyboard, trackpad, and backing. After an afternoon without my Mac and $549 worth of upgrades, my Mac was fresh and new. However, this made me think of ways that our readers can improve their Macs - the speed at least - without having to spend anything. Also, there are tons more people who don't have Macs but may have iPads, iPhones, and more with iPod Touch devices. Today, we will take a look at ways you can speed up your i-Devices...

Posted by: Emmanuel Banks    Tags:  apple, Email, iCloud, Mac, me, mobile me, Mountain Lion, news, OS X    Posted date:  July 16, 2012  |  No comment

Over the weekend, a lot of updates have occurred in terms of the revamped iCloud post-Mobile Me and finally a rumored date for Mountain Lion's release. First off, with iCloud, we have updates about iCloud now allowing @icloud.com emails. For developers who have iOS 6.3 Beta, you should be able to create an iCloud.com email that works as well with your @me.com email. For example, if you have the email AppleFreak@Me.com, you will automatically also receive mail from AppleFreak@iCloud.com. This comes after Apple discontinued Mobile Me at the end of June, now moving toward an iCloud takeover. We reviewed...
