As we know from WWDC, Apple announced that Mountain Lion will make its debut in July. With July being two weeks away, Apple sent out a notice to their retail workers on Thursday, welcoming them to take a look at Mountain Lion before it becomes public in July. The preview, known as a "software seeding project" in the notice, comes with some directions for the workers to follow. What differs this from some form of employee training is that the employees are able to take advantage of the preview on their own Mac computers from home. In addition to the news of Mountain Lion being available for Apple employees, they also are eligible for the employee discounts for Apple products. This discount, announced back in January, is a big one for the company. The discount will cover Mac and iPad devices. All Mac computers, aside from the inexpensive Mac Mini, will be eligible for $500 off the retail Apple price. Apple will also provide an updated employee discount for the iPad.
The $500 discount excludes the Mac Mini and the new Retina Display MacBook Pro. Given the price of the Mac Mini the exclusion is mathematically understandable....
